Must have computer skills that include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.Must be able to handle stressful environments and apply de-escalation techniques when needed.Must be able to work effectively as an individual or in an interdisciplinary team setting.Must be organized, detailed oriented and self - motivated.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking and investigative skills in stressful environments.
#LICENSED HEALTH CARE RISK MANAGER LICENSE#
RNs Only: Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license. Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role. Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.HCB: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals or obtain within 30 days of placement in role. Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction or obtain within 30 days of placement in role. Prefer certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or test to obtain certification within 36 months of placement in position. Licensure must be maintained throughout employment. Current licensure is required in applicable field of study. 
#LICENSED HEALTH CARE RISK MANAGER PLUS#
2 plus years of clinical experience in an acute care setting. 2 plus years of risk management and/or patient safety experience in an acute care facility. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Risk Management, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or a clinically related field of study from an accredited college or university. Facilitates projects identified through safety posts, common causes, industry trends or other means and acts as an active participant in department meetings and develops strong relationships with key leaders (nursing, physician and operational) throughout the health system. These key functions include but are not limited to health care risk management and patient safety foundational elements such as safety post review and investigation, investigation in depth, and investigation of case that may require root cause or apparent cause analyses as well as facilitation of root cause and apparent cause analyses and FMEAs. The Patient Safety/Risk Manager facilitates and conducts the activities associated with the patient safety and clinical risk management program.
